Prairie States Management Company is committed to providing hands-on management. We believe the only way to ensure proper management of the pigs under our care and the proper communication with the producers who provide that care is regular site visits. Prairie States employs the very best people in the industry to oversee production.

Competent and well-supported field personnel make regular visits to our sites. Area managers provide the producers with the guidance and training they need. A producer can count on his area manager to answer production questions and assist in making decisions about the care of his herd. The area manager, periodically, monitors temperature and air quality, condition and treatment of the pigs, feeder adjustments, water consumption, and maintenance of emergency and back-up systems. He checks on the maintenance of the site and bio-security issues. He provides the main line of communication between the Prairie States office and the producers in the country. The inspections and subsequent reports provide investors with up to date information about the progress of their pigs

Area Managers also select hogs for market and supply the producers with scheduling information and paper work.

Experienced production personnel and a staff of consulting veterinarians support area managers.

We believe that hands-on management means we see the pigs under our care, and communicate effectively with the people responsible for the day-to-day care of the pigs.
